Third Annual San Diego County School's Dancesport Championship scheduled for May 31

Wow, the years are flying by. This is already our third year end competition. This amazing annual event will take place at the Scottish Rite Center in Mission Valley.

This years main event will be a Team Match between schools from across the county. For the first time we will also have some group/formation presentation from some schools. The other events will be a competition for advanced students (who have been dancing for more than 1 year) and if there is enough participation a competition for students in grades 1 - 3. We are especially excited to hear that we even may have a performance from our kinder garden students this year. For more information on this event please CLICK HERE.

EduDance Students get to participate in Dancing "With the Stars - The Tour"

On December 27th 2007, four EduDance Couples had the awesome privilege to be able to participate in Dancing with The Stars kick off tour event at the San Diego Sports Arena. Host of the show was no other than Drew Lachey, winner of season two. During the show, young students from the EduDance program, were able to perform in front of thousands of people.

The young students auditioned one week prior to the event to be able to win the honor of being able to participate at the competition. The four couples chosen were, Garret and Sarah, Chris and Ilana and Colton and Caitlyn from the San Diego Cooperative Charter School, along with Ryan and Dani from Joan MacQueen Middle School in Alpine. The couples competed against one another in two separate dances. The winners of the event were Ryan and Dani (pictured above).

Many of the children, along with their families enjoyed front row seating at the event. After the show, the students and their families were also able to meet many of the stars from "Dancing with the Stars" backstage to receive autographs and to have their pictures taken with their favorite celebrities. California State Superintendent, Jack O'Connell visits EduDance, Classrooms in Motion

In September of 2007, the EduDance staff had the privilege and honor to welcome the Superintendent of California, Mr. Jack O'Connell to the classrooms in San Diego to view students in the process of learning to ballroom dance. Mr. O'Connell expressed that he was anxious to see, first hand, the students learning to dance in a classroom setting. Mr. O'Connell said that he had heard of the EduDance program and shared that he had not seen a program such as ours in any of the schools throughout the state of California.

Superintendent O'Connell viewed our program at Las Palmas Elementary School and at Lincoln Acres Elementary School, both located in the National School District. Mr. O'Connell was very impressed by the dance abilities of the students, their exhibition of fine social skills and showing exceptional respect for on another during the presentation.

Thank you again Superintendent O'Connell, for taking time out of your busy schedule to visit your students classrooms to view an EduDance, Classrooms in Motion presentation.
