I am excited to announce “Mr. W.’s First Dance Social”.

This will be a fun afternoon of ballroom dancing, getting dressed up, meeting your friends from school and getting to know ballroom dancers from other schools. I would like to provide you with opportunities to get your CHA-CHA on, and practice your dancing.

I have planned lot’s of dancing for all of you, perhaps a few new dance moves, and word has it that there may be an exciting dance show. That’s all I am saying. I don’t want to spoil the surprise.Not only will this be a fun event, but as young ladies and gentlemen you will also have an opportunity to give back to the community. If you bring a non-perishable food item you will automatically participate in a raffle. There will be some great prizes, and all the collected food items will be donated to a local soup kitchen. We have the official date set for our annual Dance Competition. It will be held on Sunday, May 20th, 2012 at the Scottish Rite Event Center in Mission Valley.

EduDance would like to welcome all of our students back to school and wish you a successful 2011/12 school year.

Four EduDance Couples had the awesome privilege to be able to participate in Dancing with The Stars kick off tour event at the San Diego Sports Arena. Host of the show was no other than Drew Lachey, winner of season two. During the show, young students from the EduDance program, were able to perform in front of thousands of people.

The young students auditioned one week prior to the event to be able to win the honor of being able to participate at the competition. The four couples chosen were, Garret and Sarah, Chris and Ilana and Colton and Caitlyn from the San Diego Cooperative Charter School, along with Ryan and Dani from Joan MacQueen Middle School in Alpine. The couples competed against one another in two separate dances. The winners of the event were Ryan and Dani (pictured above).

Many of the children, along with their families enjoyed front row seating at the event. After the show, the students and their families were also able to meet many of the stars from “Dancing with the Stars” backstage to receive autographs and to have their pictures taken with their favorite celebrities.
